Part Time Night Health Care Aid Compensation: $23.39-$23.65Shift Schedule: 12 hour shifts 8:30pm-8:30am, two days a weekA Little About Us: Chateau Three Hills is a vibrant, supportive retirement residence located in the community of Three Hills, Alberta. Residents value the sense of security and comfort that comes with living in a safe place where their needs are always taken care of and where our skilled team of employees are there to assist them 24/7, when the need arises.Position Summary: As a Healthcare Aid, your primary responsibilities would be to deliver exemplary personal care services that enhance life quality and peace of mind for seniors living within the supportive living residence. You will provide medication assistance as needed and as stipulated in the resident’s care plan. You will deliver personalized care and housekeeping upon request, participate in social/recreation programs tailored to needs, interests, choices, and abilities of residents. By actively contributing as a member of the program team, you play a vital role in supporting the overall well-being and peace of mind of residents and their families.The Following Job Responsibilities Are Essential For The Success of This Position:

• Responds to scheduled and unscheduled requests from residents for assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility and medication administration at times of the resident’s choice and outlined in the Service Plan. Reports critical incidents and unusual occurrences to the General Manager or designate.
• Follows the resident Care Plan to deliver exemplary personal care and hospitality services within the scope and philosophy of the supportive living program.Delivers medications and performs delegated tasks according to prescribed protocols and methods.Documents care and interactions with residents in accordance with procedure.
• Participates in the delivery of social and recreational programs such as group activities, outings, special events, spontaneous gatherings, as requested, and identifies opportunities to promote socialization. Takes initiative in assisting with unscheduled social and recreational opportunities wherever possible (card games, movies, gardening, etc.).
• Attends to requests for resident companionship to reduce or prevent social isolation or to respond to changes in resident health and functional status.Reports changes in functional capacity, mood or health status per the reporting procedures established.Participates in resident service planning as needed.
• Assists residents with completion of personal laundry as needed and assists residents to dining room as needed.
• Responds to emergency calls from residents during shifts and uses written procedure, common sense and good judgement to guide actions and mitigate risk or resident discomfort.
• Performs administrative tasks that support program administration.
• Participates in any changes in care plan and Quality Improvement.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Educational Requirements/Certification Requirements

• Health Care Aide certificate from an accredited institution and/or completion of in-services training if and when available.
• 3 years practical work experience is preferred.
• Current First Aid certification is required.
• Medication Assistance Program (MAP) training is required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Experience Requirements:

• Comfortable working alone or in a team environment and in the absence of prescribed work routines;
• Able to use a self-directed approach to plan, organize and deliver care and services with minimal supervision.
