Job Description

META is seeking a Facilities Manager for our facility in Thurso, Quebec. You will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility to ensure our business is not interrupted.What Youll Do:Reporting directly to the Technical Project Manager, Facilities Construction, the Thurso site’s Facilities Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient running of the facility as well as assisting in executing and monitoring the plans for facilities projects.Some of the typical responsibilities will include:

  • Assist on all site equipment installations and commissioning
  • Maintain site systems including HVAC, security, fire detection and suppression, building services and building automation
  • Monitoring of facilities contractors
  • Maintenance of facilities records
  • General building repairs or appropriate contracting
  • General grounds maintenance or appropriate contracting
  • Organize waste disposal and record keeping
  • Maintain inventory of basic facilities supplies
Minimum qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Facilities Coordinator, Facilities Manager, or similar role
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Bilingual English & French; spoken and written
  • Experience in security systems operation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be familiar with Outlook, Word, Excel
Preferred qualifications:
  • Relevant professional qualification or education
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified environment
  • Experience with facilities management software
