Job Description

Duties and Skills to include:

  • Mechanical skills to work with a variety of hand & power tools and machines, including ladders, electronic levels, and power saws.
  • Prepare sites for sub-contractors including; digging, leveling/sloping garages, framing interior/exterior etc.
  • Interior woodwork; frame fireplaces/garage landings, install ceiling beams, barn doors, pocket doors, fire place mantels, etc.
  • Exterior woodwork; build concrete molds/forms, build decks, install porch posts, etc.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as required (e.g. caulking, insulation, prepare for installation of appliances & fixtures)
  • Pick up and delivery of supplies to job sites from hardware stores, lumber yards, suppliers of brick, stone and electrical materials etc.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors (when necessary) to complete your own tasks efficiently
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Accuracy with measurements and fitting structures
  • Ensure work sites are clean/tidy and company vehicles are cleaned regularly
  • Drive a company van
  • Must be available to work 44 hrs per week plus overtime depending on work demands with variable start times between 7:00 - 7:30 am
Certificates (preferred but not mandatory):
  • WHMIS
  • Working at heights
  • First Aid
