Job Description

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Cleaner position. The Cleaner performs necessary cleaning duties as required with the objective of maintaining the hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.Key Responsibilities:

• Keep assigned areas clean by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, stripping, sealing, buffing and finishing.
• Use housekeeping equipment as required and described in the departmental procedures.
• Prepare cleaning solutions as required by procedures and manufacturer #39;s instructions.
• Remove waste from designated areas.
• Inclement weather and exterior duties as assigned.
• Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to the position.

Qualifications Required:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the Hospital.
• Physically able to perform the requirements of the job.
• Able to perform cleaning duties as required, in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner
• Computer knowledge and proficiency preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Other pertinent conditions:

• Must be available to work all shifts as required including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays. Hours of work are subject to change.
• Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($27.34 per hour to $28.02 per hour)
