Job Description

Morton Salt is a major salt and packaged ice melt manufacturer supplying a wide range of high-quality products.Job SummaryIn our production environment, Production Associates package salt material and operate equipment toensure safety, quality and productivity goals as set out by the Plant Manager are achieved.Duties

  • Handles, lifts, and moves salt bags and packages
  • Operates baggers and sealers according to established procedures
  • Ensure product is bagged, sealed and palletized according to specifications
  • Aid and assist the line leader
  • Ensure only product that meets specifications is passed to the next process step
  • Work safely, responsibly following all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform work according to accepted procedures and practices
  • Keep accurate records of production data
  • Communicate all concerns affecting safety, quality, productivity, and the work environment to the Line Leader
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses
  • Must be able to speak and read basic English
  • Must be able to attend work regularly, as attendance is a requirement of the position
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures in production environment
  • Prefer candidates who have production or manufacturing experience
  • Prefer candidates who have experience operating equipment including forklifts
