Job Description

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Registered Nurse position in the Emergency department. Our Emergency Department (ED) offers 24 hour care / 7 days per week. There is a physician on call to the ED at all times. Registered Nurses that are specially trained in emergency care are there to support patients and families.When you arrive you will be assessed by the Triage nurse. This assessment creates a priority list based on the urgency of your medical condition. Patients are seen by the physician based on their triage score and not on aquot;first come, first served quot; basis. Wait times may vary and your patience is appreciated.Qualifications Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Critical Care experience is required.
  • Successful completion of Critical Care Course is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year recent Medical/Surgical experience is preferred.
  • Current B.L.S. is required.
  • Current A.C.L.S. is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships within a team to contribute to a positive work life.
  • Is cognizant of emotions and experiences of others while communicating with patients, families and team members.
  • Able to recognize the importance of managing your emotions and the impact that it has on team morale and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Other pertinent conditions:
  • Salary per the ONA collective agreement ($39.07 per hour to $56.00 per hour)
