Job Description

Position: Project CoordinatorDivision: Budget DemolitionBase Location: Attawapiskat, fly in/out on 2 week cycleStatus: Full-time, Temp - PermanentSchedule: Monday to Friday – 10 hr. shifts, alternating Saturday, early morning starts 6amPosition SummaryThe Project Coordinator will manage aspects of the workforce and onsite project task execution in a cost-effective manner. They will also provide smooth coordination and control of activities across the operation at the direction of the Project Manager and Budget Environmental Management. This role will be based in a mine site located in Attawapiskat, Ontario. Due to the nature of this position, this role requires mandatory drug and alcohol testing.ResponsibilitiesAdministration– 40%

  • Schedule and confirm flights and hotels
  • Coordinate with Operations team in scheduling temporary workforce
  • Submit weekly report on hours worked/assigned tasks for temporary workforce
  • Sign off on daily work reports for Client’s field management team
  • Prepare and send equipment repair requests at the end to operations manager
Site Operations– 60%
  • Plans, supervises, and coordinates assignment of tasks with temporary workforce, employees, and subcontractors
  • Updates task assignment, project schedules, and temporary workforce planning.
  • Identifies project risks and prioritize risks that are likely to affect the project outcome to communicate to project manager.
  • Maintains daily log of project activities including temporary workforce, subcontractors/trades, description of work, weather, and safety hazards or issues.
  • Work with project manager and client in preparing change orders, monthly billing, and Request for Information.
  • Responsible for sharing information from the client to the team. Reports any challenges or issues with project plans and makes recommendations on program plans, objectives, priorities, and timing.
  • Establishes with clients and team members appropriate procedures to capture and deal with changes in original project plan
  • Establishes effective working relations with engineers/specialists, associates and officials in government and other associations on technical and project matters.
  • Enforce compliance to all applicable environmental, health and safety Acts, policies and procedures and ensure that all workers work in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required.
  • Participate in all onsite daily /weekly client and employee meetings
Education
  • Post- Secondary Diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Construction would be an asset.
Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience as Project Coordinator in the mining, construction, demolition industry. PMP designation is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and MS Project) and computer applications for Project Management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to think critically and effectively problem solve under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and manage performance with a fluctuating workload
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies and to work with a high degree of accuracy with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent client service skills for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
