Job Description

Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with all safety guidelinesEnsure an unbiased testing environment in compliance with the quality manual and other regulatory requirementsConduct both lab and field testing of construction materials including aggregate, asphalt and concreteCollect material samples from the field following outlined proceduresUse portable nuclear density gauge to determine material densitiesEnsure prompt and accurate testing and reporting of resultsCommunicate with clients, team member and site personnel about testing and resultsMaintain a clean and orderly work areaMaintain laboratory equipment calibrations and maintenance to the applicable standardsOther duties as assignedRequirements:Post-secondary education in a technical field, or equivalent experience considered an assetExperience in performing asphalt, aggregate, and concrete laboratory and field testing procedures considered an assetStrong written and verbal communication & organizational skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detailMust be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated with a strong work ethic to be results oriented to get the job done correctly the first timeAbility to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing prioritiesComputer proficiency in Microsoft OfficeBasic mathematical skillsAbility to perform manual labour and lift up to 60 lbs.Class G licenseAvailable to travel for work, with overnight travel as requiredWillingness to work days, nights and weekends shifts as assignedUnsolicited resumes from staffing firms will not be accepted.
