Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Timmins, ONWe provide maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation across the province of Ontario. Our leadership in the Ontario Road and Highway Maintenance industry is based on our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.What Does a Road Maintenance Specialist DoWith instructions from the Patrol Supervisor, the Road Maintenance Specialist will work to perform repairs and maintain the highway infrastructure to meet the performance requirements of the Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract (CDMC)As a Road Maintenance Specialist, You Will:

  • Operate and handle numerous kinds of construction tools
  • Operate equipment including but not limited to loaders, dump trucks, and pick up trucks
  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and safety precautions
  • Assist with summer maintenance on highway infrastructures, as outlined in the CDMC Performance Measures, including pothole repairs, installing small signs and end treatments
  • Assist in providing traffic control at work zones and at accident scenes, including set up and take down of traffic closures
  • Be on-call for incident response
  • Perform housekeeping duties to ensure the shop, common areas, and exterior of the yard are clean and safe
  • Maintain cleanliness of site equipment and vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned
What Youll Bring:
  • Must have a DZ license
  • Excellent team player, proven ability to work productively in a highly functional team
  • Mechanically knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance and operations of small tools
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Demonstrate ability to gain knowledge quickly
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities
  • Willingness to remain on call on a regular shift rotation, and work assigned day, night and weekend shifts
  • Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 kilograms and starting for periods of time
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness and ability to travel when necessary
