The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Director the various business units within Mining and Metallurgy.The person in this position will work closely with all engineering disciplines and IT groups to coordinate deployment of our engineering design packages on various projects and act as systems administrator for software suites from Hexagon (Smart Plant) Auto plant (Plant 3D, Revit) or AVEVA (E3D).This role will be based in Toronto, ON.Your role within the team:

• Managing a multi-role Software specialists #39; team responsible for setting up, customizing and utilization of Design software tools for aa large number of varied M amp;M projects in accordance with the client #39;s requirements.
• Coordinate with key stakeholder interfaces which will include all departments within the client organization as well as other SNCL departments.
• Develop, lead, and assist project teams in BIM, Smart Plant, E3D projects set up and ensure that the implementation of Revit aligns with Company CAD-BIM strategy and links appropriately with the wider business.
• Develop and deliver structured 3D models for projects.
• Implement 3D applications training modules for key staff and maintain training courseware.
• Participate in the process of developing 3D application standards for projects across SNCL and Atkins organizations and developing procedures to facilitate sharing of content and knowledge throughout SNCL.
• Develop and maintain 3D applications content libraries through creation of families, etc. Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally, and teams are using 3D application suites appropriately.

The ideal candidate:

• Expertise in preparation of 3D BIM models and construction documents using Plant 3D, Revit Architecture, Revit Structure. BIM experience with 3D rendering and visualization, BOQamp; cost estimation, analysis and simulations, and specification linking etc.
• Knowledge on Revit HVAC, plumbing systems, based on survey data, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data is added advantage.
• Work experience with 3D content creation: Parametric families using formulae, nesting and type catalogs and integration of Revit products with other applications (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, spec, Quantity Takeoff, etc.).
• Expertise in customization and preparation of Smart Plant models and construction documents using Smart Plant 3D, Smart Plant P amp;ID, integration with Smart plant Electrical and Smart plant Instrumentation, Expertise in customization and preparation of E3D models and construction documents using E3D, engineering and schematic applications such as AVEVA Engineering and AVEVA #39;s P amp;ID, Design in Context, AVEVA E3D.
• Structural Design, AVEVA Electrical and Instrumentation.
