CorporateLocation: Toronto, ONSchedule: Full time, permanentPosition Reports To: Vice President, GeologyPosition OverviewReporting to the Vice President Geology, the Structural Geologist, Corporate will provide technical support to New Gold #39;s operations, exploration projects, and due diligence initiatives.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and training for mine geology staff on collecting structural geology information, integrating data, and building sound geological models
  • Support mineral resource models for operations and projects to ensure that the reported resources and reserves are estimated in alignment with industry regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with operations to develop and implement exploration strategies at all scales
  • Contribute, as an integral part of the business development team, on due diligence initiatives for potential mergers and acquisitions
  • Continually seek out technological advancements to better execute mining activities and exploration
  • Role modelquot;Courage to Care quot; behaviours and promote the Company #39;s standards in Safety, Health, Environment and Community Relations.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor #39;s degree in Geology
  • A minimum of 15 years of operational and project related experience and have demonstrated experience in both open pit and underground mining operations
  • Registration as a Professional Geologist in Canada
Other Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of structural geology and 3D geological modelling applied to a wide range of mineral deposit styles
  • Experience in due diligence reviews and the drafting of NI 43-101 Technical Reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with, and influence all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Toronto based with a willingness to travel to New Gold #39;s operations up to 50%
