Job Description

Employment Type: Full-time Department: Seniors and Childrenamp; Youth Services Union: Included (CUPE)Salary: $25/hrFile #: 25-SCY-08Posting Date: January 21, 2025Posting Close: April 21, 2025Location: 51 Wyatt Avenue, Toronto, ON M5A 0M1 This position is dependent upon approved funding from Canada Summer Jobs.Position Summary Reporting to the Supervisor, Childrenamp; Youth Services, the Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating program plans for an eight-week camp program.   • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planamp; implement a process for hiring camp staff.
  • Provide orientationamp; training for camp staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee all day-to-day camp operations.
  • Supervise all camp staff.
  • Maintain appropriate information, statisticsamp; reports.
  • Monitor camp budget, time sheetsamp; petty cash.
  • Engage with parents and family.
  • Complete relevant documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with childrenamp; youth.
  • Experience with supervising others.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Ability to accept supervision and seek counsel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
  • Dependable, punctual and flexible.
  • Second language an asset.
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.

  • Currently enrolled or recently completed a diploma, degree and/or other certificate in a post-secondary institution.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
  • Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
