How You Will Make an ImpactThe successful candidate will help enhance the dignity and quality of life of our clients, visitors and co-workers by providing efficient, courteous and quality services. This position will provide support to various programs with tasks including but not limited to coordination of social media, meetings, preparation of documents such as letters, filing, data entry, agenda #39;s and meeting minutes. In addition, support will be provided to community events and the Lived Experience Advisory Committee.The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility adaptability hospitality and dignity with sensitivity to the issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and developmental disabilities. Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulationsWhat You #39;ll Bring to Our Team

  • Current enrolment in a post-secondary program in Social Services, Administration or related field in a recognized University/College
  • Experience working or assisting in public relations or outreach is an asset
  • Strong computer and literacy skills
  • Maintain confidential records, manage data and prepare correspondence and reports in a timely and precise manner is essential
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication, team building, negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in French and/or a language in addition to English is an asset
  • Meet all of the guidelines set out by the Government for the Canadian Summer Jobs Program
Hiring Criteria - the following criteria is established by Canada Summer Job: This temporary full-time position is funded by Service Canada for youth between the ages of 15 to 30 years of age.
  • Applicants may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as they were 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • As per the Summer Canada Jobs Program criteria:
    • International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
    • Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
