Job Description

In the capacity of the 2nd most senior architecture role within a major line of business, the Portfolio Architect, reporting to the Enterprise Architect, demonstrates expertise in shaping the architecture of a significant product group or ecosystem. Proactively guiding the evolution and implementation of these solutions, the Portfolio Architect collectively empowers future-state business capabilities, steering the organization towards targeted business outcomes. Accountable for aligning the ecosystem #39;s future orientation with the Line of Business Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, this role oversees the maintenance of the target state architecture and roadmap. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in guiding solution designers and approving designs developed by Solution Architects. Collaboration with the Enterprise Architect and Line of Business leaders is paramount for developing the Line of Business IT Strategy, requiring a delicate balance between strategic technology advancement and delivery pressures. The successful candidate will offer technology leadership and innovation, particularly focusing on the Information Architecture portfolio, responsible for overseeing solutioning and governance to architectural standards at an enterprise level.What you will do

    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, cutting-edge solutions that adhere to time and cost requirements and align with business unit (BU) and enterprise architecture principles and design standards.
    • Proactively identify and champion the use of technology to enhance organizational efficiency, with a focus on advocating for critical Data elements.
    • Conduct research to recommend technology opportunities, staying abreast of industry trends to support the overall strategy, including pinpointing gaps in existing Data Governance tools.
    • Foster a high-performance culture among Solution Architects, exerting influence within the IT department.
    • Facilitate collaboration among leaders, employees, and vendors to drive performance, ensuring that high expectations are met within the organization #39;s values.
    • Establish an Enterprise Information Model by developing Ontologies and Taxonomies relevant to the companies #39; business domains, such as Healthamp; Dental Insurance, Investingamp; Saving, and Retirement.
    • Ensure that Ontologies and Taxonomies empower delivery teams to construct solutions, including logical Data Models, domain-aligned APIs, and Data Mesh domains.
    • Promote the reuse of common Data models and formulate best practices for Data modeling.
    • Advocate for the Metadata and Data Glossaries maintained by the Data Governance team.
    RequirementsRequirements
    • Possess a Bachelor #39;s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
    • Accumulate 10+ years of experience in IT environments, with a preference for substantial complexity, highly regulated, and/or financial services settings.
    • Demonstrate 5+ years of progressive leadership experience related to both projects and teams.
    • Exhibit prior exposure to Business Architecture, with a preference for thought leadership in Data Architecture.
    • Showcase expertise in Data modeling and Information classification at an organizational level for large, complex enterprises, involving the definition of Data entities and relationships between them.
    • Display experience in implementing conceptual Data models, aligning with enterprise standards and including business capability-aligned Data domains and canonical Data elements at an initiative level.
    • Possess experience in areas such as designing domain-driven Data products, establishing Data Governance, defining Metadata, implementing MDM systems, and modeling APIs.
    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of common Information architecture frameworks in financial, insurance, and healthcare industries, such as BIAN, ACORD, HL7 FHIR.
    • Show familiarity with dimensional modeling and Data warehousing concepts.
    • Exhibit proficiency in visualization tools like Erwin, ER/Studio, or others for representing Data models.
    • Display excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, identifying and resolving Data modeling issues pragmatically.
    • Showcase strong communication and documentation skills to convey complex Data modeling concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
    • Ability to challenge and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and align on Data models.
    • Articulate the business benefits of Data and demonstrate a logical understanding of Data.
    • Define use cases appropriate for Relational, Non-Relational, and Graph Databases.
    • Exhibit a passion for continuous learning and adopting modern technologies, particularly in the AI/ML realm.
    • Possess experience with Agile delivery methodologies and maintaining Architecture runways.
    • Showcase relationship-building skills across multiple geographies and business functions, highlighting top-notch influencing and persuasion abilities.
    • Deep understanding of the financial services industry, with insurance experience considered a strong asset.
