Job Description

The Drake Hotel (Toronto), Drake Devonshire Inn (Wellington, Prince Edward County), and Drake Motor Inn (Wellington, Prince Edward County) are each reflective of their respective neighbourhoods and invite guests to experience a special blend of bespoke hotel, classic general store, and vibrant local culture, while enjoying great seasonal menus, a robust cocktail list, carefully curated curiosities, and genuine hospitality excellence for all.The Hotel Sales Coordinator position is a brand new opportunity with The Drake that will be responsible for supporting the Director of Sales + Hotel/Event Sales Team. The successful candidate will execute on the implementation and coordination of the hotel’s sales strategies via lead generation, prospecting, and procurement of group hotel + event business. This role will support the full sales cycle to maximum overall hotel and event revenue from administration, coordination, sales lead development, upselling+ guest services.Responsibilities

  • Identify new leads + prospects, respond to territory-specific sales opportunities, upsell
  • Outbound client acquisition in accordance with set targets for monthly outreach
  • Comprehensive understanding of hotel inventory, amenities, packages, promotions + policies
  • Produce quotes, proposals, contracts, email campaigns, collateral development, etc.
  • Actively participate in monthly sales strategy sessions
  • Coordinate all daytime meetings, large party dining, staffing requests, AV, rentals + venue set up
  • Create event BEOS, and group room resumes with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Host weekly sales and service meetings for fulsome overview of incoming hotel groups + events
  • Obtain + update all details related to hotel groups + events including: billing + deposit collection, reconciliation of events/group hotel stays, final payments/refunds, special requests + more
  • Confident about all hotel F amp;B offerings, catering menus, bar and beverage offerings, venue pricing, configurations and amenities
  • Maintain lost business, cancellation, and lead/referral files by distributing to sales manager
  • Coordinate and/or participate in sites inspections, and industry / trade functions and shows
  • Utilize Property Sales System to track, solicit, and follow up on accounts
  • Participate in prescribed Hotel/Brand training and special projects
  • Ensure effective yield management for group bookings produced and contracted
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
  • Ensure that current and prospective databases are updated and accessible
  • Promptly and professionally respond to guest requests and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1+ year of professional experience in the hotel + event market
  • Experience in consistently achieving targets and goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel/event-related technological platforms
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation, and guest services skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Autonomous self-starter and team-oriented collaboration skills
