Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join our client team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, and RESTful API development.Additionally, experience with AWS cloud services and Node.js programming is required. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services while ensuring system reliability and performance.   • Proficiency in software development for scalable services.
  • Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js and AWS cloud services.
  • Have some exposure to Terraform, IAC, or Cloud Formation.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test features within applications and services.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure application availability and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain high-performance infrastructure at scale.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Participate in technical and architectural discussions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to the technical strategy.
  • Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor #39;s or Master #39;s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong expertise in Java and Node.js programming.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as CloudFront, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, IAM, EC2, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or Spinnaker.
  • Experience implementing unit and integration tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for continuous delivery.
  • Proficiency in using observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana.
