About the Position:The Virtualization System Engineer will design, implement, manage, and support virtual infrastructure solutions with a focus on ensuring performance, security, and adherence to industry best practices and standards.This role will primarily involve working with VMware vSphere virtualization platform and other virtualization technologies to maintain and secure virtual systems and services.The ideal candidate is a highly skilled VMware specialist with proven experience managing VMware environments, particularly within public cloud platforms.This role includes delivering managed services, optimizing VMware performance and security, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.This position may require on-call availability and occasional travel. Remote and hybrid working model are available. Responsibilities: The Virtualization System Engineer will perform a variety of implementation, and support tasks related to virtualization and systems administration, including but not limited to:Project Services:·Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement technical solutions for data center environments, including virtualization, storage, and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).·Assist in understanding customer requirements and contribute to developing technical solutions that meet customer needs.·Create Solution Design documentation and assist with generating Bills of Material·Support and execute Proof of Concept activities for virtualization solutions under the guidance of senior team members.·Work with principal vendors to understand their products, solutions, and pricing to support project delivery.·Provide technical assistance during pre-sales activities, including contributing to solution designs and tender/RFP responses.·Deliver implementation services for x86 servers (Lenovo/HPE/Cisco), virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V/OpenShift), and storage systems (SAN/NAS/DAS), as well as support networking, Windows Server, Linux OS, and VDI solutions.·Participate in migration planning and execution for data storage and backup processes·Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions.Support Services:·Provide post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.·Assist with customer training sessions to ensure successful adoption of deployed solutions.·Maintain regular communication with customers and partners through telephone, email, virtual meetings, and occasional on-site visits.Managed Services:·Support managed services operations by assisting with environment provisioning, configuration management, and capacity planning under the guidance of senior team members.·Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent service delivery.·Assist in identifying opportunities to improve service delivery processes, focusing on enhancing efficiency and client satisfaction.·Administration of x86 servers, VMware, storage, Microsoft technologies for our managed services customers·Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patch management, software upgrades, and system monitoring.·Provide technical support for VMware-related issues, including incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.·Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues to minimize downtime.·Respond to and resolve service requests within agreed service levels.Others:·Actively contribute within your team and GHS through tangible contributions to process development, quality improvements, operational efficiency, and other business improvement projects.·Achieve and maintain advanced certifications in the products and technologies assigned to you.·Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders.Personal attributes: ·Demonstrate personal leadership through positive and professional communication.·Strong verbal communication skills and technical writing skills·Should have an analytical and logical approach towards solution design and problem solving·Demonstrate technical leadership through teaching, coaching, and support of other technical team members.·Strong team player and enjoys working in a fast-paced team atmosphere·Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize across competing initiatives ·Ability to work independently to deliver on assigned tasks and responsibilities with quality and accuracy·Ability to grasp highly technical concepts quickly, develop content, and independently document concepts and procedures for target audiences·Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Disclaimer: What you #39;ll get: Competitive salary Health benefits (medical, vision, dental) Life insurance Pension plan Professional development Amazing company culture Free parking Gym on-site Join a team of professionals led by a diverse set of leaders from across the industry. Familiarity with vSAN (HCI), NSX-T, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) and related VMware tools is a plus.·Proven experience with migrating VMs from on-premises to the cloud or between hypervisors. ·Knowledge of public cloud platforms and good understanding of their integration with VMware environments.·Working knowledge of network configuration, storage management, and virtualization technologies.·Demonstrated knowledge of x86 Servers and Blades, Storageamp; Backup Infrastructure and datacenter networking is a must (Lenovo, HPE, Cisco, Dell, Nutanix, Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik etc.)·Familiarity with virtualization products and solutions of the following major vendor such as VMware, Nutanix, Citrix or Microsoft·Working experience with SCCM, SCVMM, VMware Cloud on Azure/AWS/IBM Cloud would be an added advantage·Experience in Systems Center Suite, VMware Aria Suite, VCF, SRM, and/or NSX-T, is a plus·Knowledge of Private, Public and Hybrid Cloud environments·Working knowledgeamp; experience in Domain Controllers (DC), Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP·knowledge of SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, HCI, clustering, encryption technologies from multiple vendors·Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation is a plus.Certifications:·VMware VCP (required)· VMware Certified Specialist - VMware Cloud Foundation Deployment (preferred)· VMware Certified Specialist - vSAN 2024 (preferred)· Relevant public cloud certifications
