Job Description

Project CoordinatorTrail, BC – Full-TimeThe Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is located in the southern interior of British Columbia and prides itself on providing smart, sustainable governance and services to its constituents throughout our 8,200 km2 region. Our head office is located in the City of Trail, which combined with the nearby communities of Warfield, Montrose, Fruitvale and Rossland have a population of approximately 20,000.The RDKB is currently seeking applications for the new position of Project Coordinator with the Environmental Services Department. This is a benefitted, full-time role and an excellent opportunity to join an established, passionate team where you can be part of innovative projects that assist communities in meeting their sustainability and climate change goals. The initial focus of the position will be solid waste management and waste reduction projects.Reporting to the General Manager of Environmental Services, the Project Coordinator will split their time between site and the office where they are responsible for coordinating planning, implementation and tracking of environmental capital and other projects. This will include all aspects of project coordination, assisting leaders with scope development, procurement, contract administration, project controls, coordinating with operations, reporting and more. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skill and ability applying project management principles, effective team work and communication skills and the ability to problem-solve in an dynamic environment.To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Technical diploma in Building Science, Engineering or Architectural Technology
  • 3 years related experience including project management, ideally in a local government setting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Eligible for ASCT or C.Tech (ASTTBC) certification
  • Certificate in project management and/or familiarity with MMCD and CDCC preferred
  • Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
