Position OverviewAs a Technical Analyst at FortisBC, this position is responsible for providing technical support to the end users at FortisBC. This includes, but is not limited to, desktop computing, mobile computing, communications, end-user support, printing devices, network infrastructure and server storage, data centre equipment. ResponsibilitiesProvide frontline technical support to our end usersComplete departmental helpdesk/deskside functions including problem receiving, recording, and trackingAction technology service requestsTroubleshoot end user issues (hardware and company standard software)Provide support and tracking for mobile and smart devicesComplete upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasksRepair computer software and/or hardware and work with external vendors to obtain repairs when necessaryLiaise with senior support on behalf of clientDeploy device images and software packagesAcquire quotes and procurement of necessary hardware and softwareSet-up/receive/deliver PC equipment, recycle of excess surplus equipmentRecord software and hardware asset modificationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s computer systemsEstimate/complete a series of tasks required for a minor projectSome travel may be required Requirements2 year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science or related field.Minimum 2 years’ experience related work experience.Familiar with current operating systems applicable to the job.Familiar with imaging processesFamiliar with software deploymentMaintaining business contacts with suppliers, service reps and other businesses.Familiar with Windows Server based network environment including user maintenance, scheduling, printer configuration, remote connectivity, etc.Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, collaboration and communication systemsKnowledge of peripherals and network attached devices including but not limited to printers, scanners, plotters, cameras, mobile, smart devicesValid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s licenseOur engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse.
