Northern Nova Scotia, Canada serving approximately 19,000 children from Pre-Primary through to Grade 12. CCRCE is an equal opportunity employer and encourages application from members of designated groups which include persons of First Nations descent and African Nova Scotians.The Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) works within a needs based and inclusive approach with assigned students in schools and is responsible for collaborating with school teams to help design and carry out proactive, evidence based programming for students who will benefit from social, emotional and behavior programs and supports.Minimum Requirements - Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate such as Nova Scotia Community College: Child . Youth Care Practitioner Program diploma is required. The diploma or certificate includes study and practicums focused on: growth and development, relational child and youth care practices and ethics, principles of behavior, activity based interventions and observation skills.

  • Valid drivers license.
  • First Aid, CPR .
  • Minimum Experience:Minimum of two years experience working with school aged children and youth is required.Additional Assets - Previous successful experience working with school aged children and youth of the same grades as the position and in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Direct knowledge and experience of the community(ies) served is an asset.
  • Membership in the NS Child and Youth Care Workers Association is an asset.
