This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supporting the Manager by providing leadership, directing and managing staff in the daily operations and prioritization of Zone facility services, contributing to the implementation and maintenance of standards, policies and procedures, job analysis, work flow routines, and staffing needs. Plans, organizes and directs the Maintenance/operations department (for responsible sites) for the operation, maintenance and repair of the physical Plant, buildings and grounds, as well as associated equipment and mechanical/electrical systems, to support the function of the facilities and to meet the needs of the patients, clients, and staff. Responsible to oversee and coordinate construction projects under $50,000; to participate in the tendering and awarding of service/renovation contracts and ensure proper implementation (i.e. standards maintained) and minimal interference with hospital staff and services.QualificationsRequired minimum:

  • Certified journeyperson or post-secondary education related to Maintenance/Operations.
  • 3-5 years progressive leadership experience in facilities management with at least 1 year experience in managing employees and resources.
  • Travel to other sites is required. Access to a reliable vehicle is required.
The following would be considered an asset:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
