This is a permanent full-time position located in Truro, NS.Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is a member of the Plant Senior Management Team and provides servant leadership, technical management and continuous improvement support for the production department.Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive work environment and adopt a culture of continuous improvement in areas of Health & Safety, Quality, Productivity and the Environment.
  • Provide coaching and support to direct reports on LEAN methodology and process improvement projects.
  • Develop, maintain and implement departmental budgets and cost reduction activities.
  • Work closely with Line Structure teams with implementation of the Autonomous Maintenance Pillar
  • Review and approve all departmental Incident Reports and ensure all corrective actions drive to route cause.
  • Ensure Sanitary Maintenance schedules are respected and sanitary work orders are completed on time.
  • Support Line Structure teams in developing 5year Capex Plans.
  • Work closely with Corporate Engineering Team to identify cost out opportunities and site improvements initiatives.
  • Develop monthly Supervisor work schedule.
  • Works with Quality Assurance to manage production activities necessary for the effective implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality plans and pre-requisite programs.
  • Work with plant, corporate and client personnel to resolve day-to-day production tasks/needs as they arise.
  • Work directly with the Innovation and Product Development team on customer product initiatives, adjustments to process and raw material assessment.
