Job Description

We are Atlantic Canada STRONGO’Brien overhead cranes are manufactured locally in Memramcook, New Brunswick, and provide an optimal solution for your day-to-day or industry-specific lifting requirements. After over 25 years in the crane manufacturing industry, we pride ourselves on our reputation for excellence as the only full-service crane manufacturer in Atlantic Canada.We are currently seeking a Crane Service Technician to join our team.Job Summary: Reporting to the Service Manager, as a Crane Service Technician, you will be responsible for traveling to our customer sites across the maritime provinces and performing a variety of duties such as inspecting, repair service, and preventative maintenance on equipment, including overhead cranes and hoists. Both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting will be performed.Duties and Responsibilities: · Resolve emergency breakdown situations· Respond to afterhours service calls (be on call)· Troubleshoot and Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions documenting all· Determine extent of repair required making recommendations· Ensure O’Brien’s and customers safety policies and procedures are being followed at all times· Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts· Test repaired equipment for proper performance· Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work on customer equipment· Complete inspection reports and daily timesheets accurately and in a timely fashion· Maintain work area including equipment and tools including inventory· Provide excellent customer service· Other duties as requiredSkills and Specifications: · Must be able to work well independently or within a team environment- Understand safety regulations pertaining to overhead cranes such as CSA B167 and OSHA· Exceptional problem-solving skills· Self-starter· Critical thinking· Mechanically and Electrically inclined· Good communication skills· Fast paced environment - must be able to work well under pressure· Extensive travel requiredEducational and Qualifications: · Journeyman in Millwright or Electrician license required or equivalent· Minimum 3-5 years industry experience· Secondary school diploma is a minimum· Overhead Crane experience is an asset (8,000 or 10,000hrs working on cranes is preferred)· Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving recordWorking Conditions: · Working indoor and outdoor and outdoor environment· Required to work at heights· Hazards associated with the trade- Frequent exposure to temperatures such as extreme heat· Must be able to lift 50lbs frequently and 75lbs from time to time.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $27.00 per hourBenefits:
