Job Description

Inland Technologies Fitter-Welder524 Upper Brookside Rd, Upper Brookside, NS Immediately seeking welder apprentices. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, are safety focused, strong team players and eager to learn and take on new challenges.Inland offers a wide rage of benefits (some of which are subject to eligibility:) such as:

  • Compensation ranges from $19.00-$26.00/hr. depending on hours /years of experience at time of hire.
About the Position:Aside from the excitement of working in a busy manufacturing facility, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:
  • Promoting and adhering to our safety and respectful workplace culture.
  • Perform welding processes in accordance with the WPS/WPDS provided.
  • Interprets construction drawings (blueprints and general layouts);
  • Fitting and welding of various metal components.
  • Designing and constructing jigs when required;
  • Set up and operation of GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW welding applications;
  • Keep all Inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition.
  • Promptly and accurately complete all associated paperwork as required;
  • Perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by management request.
Qualifications:
  • Welding Diploma and/or equivalent hours/years of experience with technical training for level 2amp; 3 Apprentices.
  • Perform FCAW,GMAW processes in Flat/Horizontal positions a minimum requirement. GTAW and All Position welding considered an asset.
  • Experience with fitting from blueprints and general layouts;
  • Experience with carbon steel and stainless steels.
  • Experience with core manufacturing processes (Acetylene cutting, scarfingamp; welding, plasma arc cutting, hydro testing pipe, etc.);
  • Experience and ability to inspect parts with a focus on quality;
  • Read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment;
  • Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change in order to support manufacturing demands of the company.
