Job Description

At Sansom Equipment Limited, we recognize the key to our success is our people, and because of our people Sansom Equipment Limited is the leading distributor and service provider for pumps, blowers, valves, generators, engines, VFDs and packaged engineered systems for industrial and municipal applications in Atlantic Canada.We are in search of a Marineamp; Industrial Engine Sales Lead to join our team in Truro, Nova Scotia. This role includes sales development with our Industrial/Marine and end users in Atlantic Canada.Responsibilities:Responsible for the sales of marine and industrial engine and propulsion products in Nova Scotia to a series of existing Sansom dealers. This would involve:

  1. Development of annual sales plans, targets and monthly forecasting for dealer network.
  2. Assisting Sansom dealers / partners in technical sales and regular product demonstrations
  3. Training dealer personnel in various sales / service functions to meet vendor expectations.
There is also an expectation to work with end users that are not serviced by a local dealer to source the products that they require. Candidate is expected to train dealer personnel in various sales and service functions to meet vendor demand.Responsible for the expansion of Sansom dealer network and the growth of our overall business in these sectors. Must work closely with existing industrial and marine engine vendors to ensure expectations are met in regard to several internal key performance indicators.With assistance from Branch Manager, develop quarterly sales scorecard to report to Sansom management on industrial and marine product sales.Regular travel within Nova Scotia and potentially other parts of Atlantic Canada for field assessments and sales calls with or without dealers will be required. With regular visits to the Truro Sansom office, the ideal candidate would live in the central part of the province.Attending local trade shows relative to the marine and industrial engine business.QualificationsIdeal candidate would possess a degree in mechanical or marine engineering or a combination of sales experience and education in the marine and / or industrial rotating equipment sector.Sound knowledge of controls such as HMIs and PLC systems.
