Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition Title Part-Time Academic (Energy Production& Utilization - APSC 3020)Posting Number PTAP1652PDepartment/Unit Engineering - Dal ACLocation TruroJob Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesThis lecture-based course provides an overview of the whole energy system, focusing on selected attributes of energy. The assessment, management and remediation of energy production is a global issue, which will ultimately impact all walks of life, business, industry and future infrastructure. It includes an introduction to the energy supply chain, transmission and distribution systems, energy use, energy policy and the environment and methods of generation. It also includes an overview of renewable energy assessment techniques and feasibility tools.The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, labs, test preparation, and evaluation. As well. student contact through virtual or in-person office hours may be required. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.In the 2022 Fall Semester this course is scheduled to take place in person the Truro campus. Lectures are currently scheduled for Tuesdays/Thursdays 10:05-11:25 and labs Wednesdays 11:35-14:25Qualifications/Requirements of PositionMSc in Agriculture or Applied Science or related field. (Ph.D. preferred). Teaching experience of energy-related topics at a University level required.
