Student Programs Officer- CC#22-07-02Nova Scotia International Student ProgramA consortium project of the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board, Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board, Chignecto-Central Regional School Board, Halifax Regional School Board, South Shore Regional School Board, Strait Regional School Board, and Tri-County Regional School Board in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Education.Student Programs Officer – CC#22-07-02Full-time Permanent PositionSUMMARY:The Student Programs Officer, Nova Scotia International Student Program is responsible for in- province programs and services for international and Nova Scotian students including the Ambassador Program, student FAM tours, and the NSISP Passport App. In addition, the Student Programs Officer is responsible for promoting ancillary programs and works closely with NSISP partners and RCE/CSAP to organize and facilitate these programs prior to student arrival. The Student Programs Officer reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director of the NSISP.REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from Accredited College in a related field;
  • Experience in youth program management;
  • Current Nova Scotia driver’s license and willingness to travel abroad; and,
  • Experience international programs and fluency in other languages are considered assets.
ABILIITY:
  • Effectively manage the Nova Scotia Student Ambassador Program including monitoring student work, organizing the Ambassador Training Camp, managing program materials, and maintaining this information in the database;
  • Effectively manage the NSISP Passport App including working with developer to maintain updates for the app, promote the app around the province, develop and manage monthly contests, trouble shoot issues for RCEs, maintain regular communications and provide training for RCE app admins and maintain domain and hosting fees to ensure the app runs effectively;
  • Work collaborative with the Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director to manage NSISP pathways program through maintaining relationships and agreements with universities and colleges, managing NSISP student FAM tours, maintaining graduating student data and create a system to track and communicate with NSISP alumni;
  • Effectively manager short term program promotions and communications prior to student group arrivals. This includes negotiating the MOU between agent or school partners and RCEs, creating and maintaining marketing materials promoting the program, updating program fees on an annual basis, maintaining a list of groups who express interest in these programs and training all RCE and NSISP staff on the program;
  • Assist with Airport Arrivals and departures for students at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport in September, February, and June each year;
  • Develop and circulate micro credentials for students and ambassadors on an annual basis;
  • Assist with homestay recruitment by creating and maintaining promotional materials and by facilitating training for homestay coordinators;
  • Travel on behalf of the program to promote the NSISP in international markets as required; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.
