Job description: Take it Outside & Trail Shop Bookkeeper - Truro or Halifax Requirements

  • Positive energy and upbeat attitude
  • Bookkeeping certification and 2 years experience
  • Experience working in small business
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks online (QBO) accounting
  • Ability to practice confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.
  • Awareness of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills
Position outcomes
  • Day-to-day processing of financial transactions to ensure that the company finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Keep all records up to date and meet all deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building, bookkeeping, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a standard 40 hours per week
Tasks including but not limited to:
  • Enter purchase orders and their respective invoices in QBO.
  • Print cheques for signing in a timely manner, accounting for any discounts per payment terms.
  • Keep track of inventory levels to ensure accounting records accurately reflect inventory levels in Shopify
  • Review daily sales entries, both online and in store.
  • Monthly reconciliations for accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, bank account and visa
  • Biweekly payroll
  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll taxes returns
  • Prepare and submit quarterly HST Returns
  • Month end closing journal entries
  • Monthly Financial Statements
  • Monthly Cash Flow reporting
  • Credit applications as required
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $18.00-$22.00 per hourBenefits:

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Truro, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • QuickBooks: 2 years (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)
