Job Description

While working with Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, and its affiliates, the right candidate will conduct themselves in accordance with our Core Values: Take Ownership, Integrity, Make a Difference, Professionalism.The Cocktail Bartender is a multi-faceted role. You are the main service staff in the lounge so it is your responsibility to provide service to customers in the lounge by greeting, taking food and drink orders, and taking payments. You are also responsible for clearing and setting tables and maintaining general cleanliness of your area. You will also prepare many of the beverages for orders from the Fetch Restaurant.Position Responsibilities:

  • Exceed guests’ expectations by providing exceptional customer service and anticipating guests’ needs
  • Efficiently and professionally take guest food & drink orders, advise on regular and special menu items, deliver food and drinks to guests
  • Maximize food and drink revenue by employing strong sales techniques
  • Participate in maintaining high cleanliness standards in lounge and bar area
  • Communicate with Culinary team and Front of House to ensure high quality of product and service is maintained
  • Properly complete cash handling and balancing procedures
  • Be able to provide guests with information on Black Rock Oceanfront Resort’s amenities, services, and events as well as information on the surrounding area
  • Abide by basic beverage control and responsible serving standards
  • Actively strive to minimize wastage and adhere to recipes and inventory control procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by the management team
This position requires:
  • Responsible Beverage Service Certificate (Serving It Right) Required
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience with cocktails and specialty drinks
  • Completion of Bartending Course is an asset
  • Knowledge of Wines, Beer and Spirits
  • Standard Cash Handling
  • FOODSAFE certification is an asset
  • Luxury Resort/Hotel Experience
  • Exceptional Customer Service
  • Excellent Verbal, Listening, and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to Multi-Task and Work Under Pressure
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Flexibility in Work Tasks and Work Schedule
  • Organizational skills
  • Cash Handling experience
  • Physically Able to Lift/Move up to 50 lbs.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
