Job Description

We’re looking for a well-organized individual with restaurant or hospitality experience who enjoys system and structure, has basic business management knowledge and a flair for building relationships.We’re Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet, on the edge of Pacific Rim National Park. Set amongst old growth Cedars and the rugged shoreline of Vancouver Island in the traditional territory of the Nuu-chah-nulth people, our natural setting provides an incredible bounty of seasonal ingredients.Come share your passion with guests from around the world and around the corner. We’re building a playground for the culinarily adventurous based on mutual respect, inclusion, community, and growth.The Responsibilities:

  • Produce staff schedule and coordinate payroll and human resources paperwork.
  • Assist Executive Chef with monthly inventory.
  • Work with leadership team to ensure health, safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Keep fridges clean and organized.
  • Store and distribute weekly deliveries of food and beverage inventory.
  • Do temperature checks on fridges and freezers.
  • Ensure a sufficient stock of chemicals to clean the kitchen effectively and run the dishwashers.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and cleaning of kitchen spaces and equipment.
  • Coordination with Events Staff for silverware, plates, glasses, and other requirements for functions.

Requirements:
  • Passion for to inspiring, coaching and developing a team
  • 3+ years high volume kitchen and/ or resort experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and related software
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement
  • First Aid certification is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
