A successful candidate for this position will be ready to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. In this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, you will need to be a self-starter with high attention to detail, in order to succeed at handling 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Markham, Ontario area.What you get to do every day- Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment- Compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports and take care of payments in compliance with GAAP- Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks- Test documents and codes- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers- Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organizationJob Requirements:- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable- Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy- BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred- Expertise in Microsoft Excel- Microsoft Excel experience- Deep understanding of consumer collections- Experience with ERP systemsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
