Job Description

INVIRO is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our growing team.   • Implement the design concept through the preparation of electrical detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Design and prepare layouts and specification for lighting, electrical distribution (single line diagrams), emergency power distribution, fire alarm, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, cable, and panel schedules.
  • Work alongside the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Perform calculations, create specifications, and equipment selection.
  • Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
  • Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
  • Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering required
  • 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings
  • Work experience designing HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset
