Note this is a .6FTE position.Job SummaryGo Global, a systems-wide program, provides international learning opportunities for UBC and partner university students. UBC graduate and undergraduate students have the opportunity to study, research, complete internships, and global seminars around the world, and learn from incoming students attending UBC as exchange and visiting research students. Working with UBC academic units, Go Global creates partnerships with post-secondary organizations and communities to provide these opportunities. The Go Global Associate Advisor manages established learning opportunities with UBC academic programs through partner universities, develops learning curriculum, facilitates co-curricular workshops and advises students participating in international study, research, clinical or practicum placements. The Associate Advisor specializes in working with incoming and outgoing students. In addition, the Associate Advisor represents Go Global on university project teams and committees. The Associate Advisor will have strong project management and educator skills, and be an exceptional communicator in a complex network of partners and UBC faculties.The Global Engagement Associate Advisor is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and providing Go Global programs and advising services in order to support participation in, and development of, inbound and outbound UBC student mobility programs. This may include managing orientation and transition events and support, developing and implementing recruitment strategies for specific UBC international learning programs, and advising UBC students prior to, during, and following their international learning experiences. The Associate Advisor works with UBC and partner university faculty and staff using various information systems to support the execution of Go Global programs.Organizational StatusThe Go Global Associate Advisor reports directly to the Assistant Director, Go Global and is a member of the Go Global: International Learning Programs unit within the Global Engagement Office.
