Located in the Winnipeg, Manitoba area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. In this role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes are also expected tasks. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Major responsibilities- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision- Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting- Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process- Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments- Take part in various department-wide initiatives- Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable mannerJob Requirements:- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics- 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience- Strong attention to detail- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines- Experience with ERP systems- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel- General familiarity with Monthly Reporting- Adeptness in bank reconciliations- Demonstrated knowledge of capital assets- Practical knowledge of Year-end Audits- Collecting Payments experience- Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)- Journal entries experience highly desired- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligentRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
