About the OpportunityEriez Flotation Canada Inc. the flagship office for FLOTATION, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Mineral Processing Team. You will have strong skills in process engineering, testwork management, and commissioning/operational support experience in froth flotation and mineral processing operations. Previous formal supervisory experience or mentorship of technical teams is required. Working within a small, high-performing team in our Delta, BC office, and through strong collaboration with other Eriez offices globally, you will be a key player in delivering both process engineering design support and services to our international and Canadian mining clients. The successful candidate for this role is expected to maintain a strong commitment to safety and always act with integrity.RequirementsIn this role, you will undertake the following duties, including but not limited to:Leadership:

  • Act as a technical liaison with a broad range of national and international customers and agents to determine proper applications for our equipment to suit customer needs.
  • Assist as required to solve customer technical problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Supervise one to two junior process engineers and/or a co-op student. Formal supervisory duties will include directing work activities to ensure quality, productivity, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Mentor junior process engineers/students to ensure transfer of knowledge and develop their technical and professional skills.
  • Act as a safety leader and foster a positive safety culture within Eriez and in delivering projects and services to clients.
Technical and Operational Support:
  • Liaise with Eriez Canada Capital Sales, Services, and Engineering teams as well as Global Product Groups to support process-related aspects of equipment sales, project delivery and services.
  • Direct involvement in the development, management, and interpretation of the laboratory / piloting metallurgical testwork programs. Participate in testwork at laboratories and customer sites, as necessary.
  • Writing and reviewing testwork reporting, sales proposal technical content, business cases and technical whitepapers.
  • Perform calculations related to equipment sizing and process design in response to commercial bid packages.
  • Preparation and review of equipment datasheets, control philosophy or any other technical documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate and work with instrument specialists for instrument/valves/pump selection and datasheet development
  • Provide Commissioning, Operation and Optimization support at clients’ site
  • Domestic and International Travel (Typically 25%, up to 50% during major pilot campaigns).
About You
  • Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in mineral processing.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada
  • Experience in piloting, commissioning, and optimization of flotation equipment is an asset.
  • Experience supervising small teams and/or mentoring developing technical employees is an asset.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Detail oriented and well-organized
  • Able to meet deadlines, respond quickly to change and adapt to new requirements
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written
  • Ability to work with a diverse team to achieve business objectives and meet customer needs
