Explore our amazing new opportunities.Department: Pre-Arrival Settlement ServicesProgram: Active Engagement & Integration ProjectEmployment Type: Temporary Full-Time (35 hours per week)Number of Positions: 1Job Summary:The Settlement Practitioner Lead is responsible for supporting the AEIP services in Vancouver, Canada. The SP lead works with the Senior Project Manager in meeting AEIP service outcomes, builds and maintains a dynamic, motivated and professional team. The SP lead is accountable for service planning, monitoring and direct service delivery to clients as well as coaching and training the team when needed.Reports To: Senior Project ManagerKey Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers direct settlement services – by phone or online – in the service streams of Needs Assessments & Referrals, Information & Orientation, and Employment Related Services
  • Develops and implements service plans with settlement staff to ensure effective settlement service delivery
  • Provides service orientation to new settlement staff and ongoing monitoring and coaching to all settlement staff to ensure effective service implementation that leads to quality settlement outcomes
  • Remains up-to-date on changes to community and government services, procedures and policies, and disseminates updated information and resources to settlement staff to ensure clients are provided with the most up-to-date settlement information
  • Organizes and delivers workshops, orientations, support groups, and other program activities for various client groups (e.g. refugee, families, women, youth, seniors, skilled workers, etc.)
  • Documents client needs, action items, attendance records, progress notes and outcomes to secured client database and iCare for referral, report and evaluation
  • Resolves disputes or grievances from clients or settlement staff and seeks additional assistance if needed
  • Supports the delivery of client service, and assign/direct the work of settlement staff
  • Ensures service activities meet the identified outcomes and performance measurements according to the IRCC contribution agreement
  • Provides monthly operations update and identify any issues or opportunities pertaining to client service, service area compliance, and activities scheduling
Education, Training and Experience:
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of frontline experience in related fields
  • At least 1 years of relevant supervisory / managerial experience in the social service sector
  • Extensive knowledge of settlement/employment services and issues
  • Extensive experience working with immigrants of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of Case Management process
  • Demonstrate understanding of conflict resolution techniques and crisis intervention skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of interpersonal and intercultural communication techniques
Job Skills and Abilities:
  • Understanding of social services programming for immigrant populations
  • Knowledge of community resources for newcomers to Canada
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office and interactive internet usage
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and active listening skills
  • Able to deal diplomatically with difficult cases
  • Able to develop, promote, deliver and facilitate orientation and employment/settlement-related themed workshops
  • Demonstrate understanding of conflict resolution techniques and crisis intervention skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of interpersonal and intercultural communication techniques
Special Requirements & Additional Information:
  • Able to work in early mornings, evenings and/or weekends as required
  • Willing to travel if required
  • Clear criminal record check
