VANCOUVER ART GALLERY ASSOCIATION1 REGULAR FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLEACCOUNTING CLERKReporting to the Intermediate Accountant, the Accounting Clerk will perform General accounting duties including processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and routine general ledger account reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting Intermediate Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. They will assist, communicate, and problem solve with others throughout the Gallery.DUTIESEnsure that all bank and credit card accounts are reconciled on a timely manner, in accordance to the month end closing schedules.Assist the Accounts Payable Administrator and Accounts Receivable Administrator with transaction processing & filings.Assist the external auditors with the annual audit and ensure that all requested information is provided in a timely manner.Assist the Director of Finance & Administration with various ad hoc analyses as and when requested.Provide support to other functions and departments of the organization. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.Provide backup for other positions in the Finance department as needed/required.Assist in identifying process and control improvements and the implementation of same. Ensure documentation of procedures is updated as changes are made.Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted practices and procedures.These duties and responsibilities outlined above are representative, but not all inclusive.QUALIFICATIONS:
