Job Description

Full Job DescriptionWe are looking to add an Accounting Clerk at our head office in Vancouver-Kitsilano. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk would be part of the team responsible for AP, AR, claims, collections, monthly reporting, and other general accounting/administrative duties.The ideal candidate is someone who is detail oriented, efficient, a quick learner with a great attitude and have a minimum of 3 years of recent Canadian work experience in AP and/or AR. This position will also provide the potential opportunity for the successful candidate to take on more responsibilities and further their accounting career.Responsibilities

  • Ensuring invoices are reviewed and verified for accuracy and approved before posting for payment;
  • Ensuring payables and receivables are approved for posting and correctly coded and dated;
  • Setting up Wire, EFT/ACH payments;
  • Weekly cheque runs;
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial transactions and supporting documentation; and
  • Providing general administrative support to the accounting department including photocopying, bank runs, filing, sorting, organizing and retrieving data and documents when needed.
Skills and Education
  • Nearing or completion of post-secondary education in accounting;
  • MS Office applications required (Outlook, Word and Excel). Experience with VLookup not required but would be beneficial;
  • Experience with SAP Business One or similar
  • Min 3 years of experience working in a professional office environment;
  • Highly organized, accurate and detailed in performing their duties;
  • Efficient and effective time management, showing the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and multi-task priorities; and
  • Strong communication skills,
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
