As an integral role within the company, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for data entry and reconciliation of accounting entries for the WCRL raw material division. Working closely with Accounting Clerks and Administration across all WCRL Divisions, more than 85% of this position will involve input and review of raw material accounting transactions into JD Edwards and ensuring accuracy of the transactions. Other responsibilities of the position (15%) are to perform other accounting or administrative tasks for Accounts ReceivableKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily processing of various WCRL Division’s Raw Material Scale data while ensuring accuracy and correcting data discrepancies as needed
  • Compare daily scale tickets against route history noting any discrepancies and investigating inconsistencies
  • Accurately process and record transactions
  • Process, verify, and post receipts for goods sold or services rendered
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies
  • Maintain detailed records regarding payments and account statuses
  • Obtain information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts
  • Maintain both Canadian & US dollar petty cash funds
  • Provide back-up support to other members of the Accounting & Finance Team as necessary
  • Assist with general office administrative duties (front desk reception coverage, filing, corporate mailouts, organizing, etc.) to various departments as needed
  • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
  • Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate from a recognized post-secondary certificate or diploma program in the fields of Accounting, Commerce or a related area of study is an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience in an administrative or accounting role required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Suite products, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and Document Management Systems required
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
