Job Description

Our highly skilled staff work with challenging issues in the complex K-12 public school sector. We are seeking a highly motivated administrative professional to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position. As Administrative Assistant, you will provide a variety of administrative support to specialist staff and work with other members of the administrative team to meet deadlines and common goals. The responsibilities are varied, ranging from routine to complex. Your contributions will support K-12 public schools across British Columbia.General administrative support

  • providing general administrative support to BCPSEA staff as assigned, including overflow work from other administrative staff as required
  • answering inquires and disseminating information to internal colleagues and external contacts
  • scheduling both in person and virtual meetings, and booking meeting rooms
  • providing back-up reception support
Writing and document management
  • preparing of a variety of correspondence
  • creating PowerPoint presentations
  • proofreading and formatting documents
  • filing both hard and soft copy documents
Technical support
  • troubleshooting office business machines
  • acting as the first point of contact to internal staff for IT and phone related issues
  • liaising with the external IT service provider to ensure the organization’s needs are met
  • uploading and editing content on the website
Education and experience Ideally you will have completed an Office Administration Diploma or Administrative Assistant Certificate and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in an administrative role. You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work proactively with others, and possess a high degree of technological proficiency.The key to your success includes being able to work independently and take initiative, while being able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Your superior organizational and interpersonal skills will be supported by excellent spoken and written English, exemplary proofreading and formatting skills, as well as advanced Microsoft Office, basic HTML and PDF editing skills.We offer a competitive salary ($52,983–66,229), comprehensive benefit and pension plans, professional development, and a friendly work environment.
