The timeline to reopen is still under consideration, as are our future remote working policies.Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Manager, Risk Operations (This is a Middle Office function, the name Middle office and Risk operations will be used interchangeably), this role will be responsible for maintaining static data infrastructure (curves, generators, portfolio, counterparty, limits etc..) in Murex. This role will help the team to manage and maintain collateral and credit union custody transactions. The incumbent, through process and procedure, will ensure the integrity and accuracy of positions, valuations, and risk within the book of record. This role acts as the frontline of risk oversight with regards to compliance with the Central 1 policies and standards, performing analysis, applying a trust but verify methodology when performing transaction review and operational processes for the business, communicating any discrepancies or non-compliance to the appropriate levels of management.This role will be expected, within their daily work, to apply their risk management and capital markets experience and knowledge to help determine and prevent any fraudulent and harmful transactions and communicate any concerns to the management of the Risk Group. This role is expected to work directly with junior and senior members of Treasury to investigate and resolve issues as they are identified.Failure to execute this mandate accurately and reliably can directly expose the Company to excessive risk of financial and reputational loss.What you'll do:PROCESS AND PROCEDURE DOCUMENTATION: Write standard operating procedures for all current existing and new middle office process. Ensure the documentation stay live by updating in a periodical way. Maintain the team confluence page and ensure the documentations are properly structured for the team’s reference.SME (Subject Matter Expertise) in MUREX AND BLOOMBERG: Apply analytical skills to understand how Murex has been configured for the setup in Central 1. Understand how the static data modules in Murex are connected to each other and ensure data are maintained properly so that there are no downstream impacts to other team using Murex as book of records. Ensuring the pricing data in Murex match Bloomberg. Build expertise in Murex and Bloomberg through self-study of Murex_Docs and going over Murex issues history in Jira.STATIC AND MARKET DATA CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE: This role will ensure that static and market data (Curves, security, generators, Limits, Pricing, yield) setup and maintenance controls, processes, and procedures are followed. They will also help to determine where new static and market data requests do not meet internal Central 1 policies, helping to prevent non-compliance. In addition, any requests that they have determined that fall outside the policies, processes, and procedures will be communicated to the management of risk for appropriate approvals.POST-TRADE CONTROL: Ensure that trades and transactions are accurately represented within the system of record and that the transactions comply with internal Central 1 policies and procedures. The incumbent will produce and perform analysis on reports to ensure trade compliance and the prevention of fraudulent and harmful trading. These responsibilities include, but not limited to: daily verifications of transactions, end-of-day rating setting review and off-market testing.INTERNAL CONTROLS: The incumbent will be responsible for regularly performing key compliance and control procedures aimed at ensuring the integrity and accuracy of Treasury activities and aid in the prevention of any fraudulent or harmful trading. This involves, but is not limited to, limits application from internal policies and standards, new product and counterparty review, and daily verifications.CREDIT UNION CUSTODY TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT: Manage and apply the credit union custody program. Ensure that credit union transactions are entered accurately and in a timely fashion into the system of record.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Backup to team members as required. This may include but not limited to Collateral Management, Adhoc analysis of requests from different stakeholders.QualificationsWho you are:At a minimum, an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, math, or another quantitative subject is required and/or a combination of education and experience/competence in quantitative analysis and other relevant business areas.At least three years of experience in a risk management role, in Murex and Bloomberg, focusing on daily treasury middle office operations or compliance and control functions. Experience designing and implementing middle office controls is an asset.Possess a strong working knowledge of key treasury markets and products, including fixed income, derivatives, futures, options, foreign exchange and securitization.Possess a good working understanding of liquidity, market and traded credit risk concepts and measurement techniques.Scrupulous attention to detail; demonstrably strong and accurate quantitative skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to express oneself clearly and logically, both verbally and in writing.Unquestionable integrity and commitment to the execution of middle office controls and processes.The curiosity to independently identify and investigate unusual trends in business activity and risk levels.Ability to work collaboratively with others, both within the department and in other areas (front office, operations) and to positively resolve conflict.The courage to question senior business unit staff and the courage to escalate issues to senior members of Risk and Treasury.The flexibility to be responsive to the business needs of Central 1 and the credit union system, to adapt to evolving needs of the department and to cope in a rapidly changing environment.Additional InformationAs much as we believe in working hard, we also believe in personal growth and taking time for ourselves.
