As a subject matter expert, the position is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines and effectively moving these pipelines into production, driving automation through metadata management, collaborating across departments, educating, training, and ensuring compliance and governance during data use.ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coaching, training, and advising employees , management and leadership on various technical topics and acting as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Making the appropriate data available to various data consumers (including data scientists, data and business analysts, citizen integrators, and line-of-business users).
  • Building, managing, and operationalizing data pipelines in support of key D&A use cases.
  • Curating datasets and data pipelines created by nontechnical users.
  • Operationalizing data delivery for production-level deployments.
  • supporting the key task of deploying analytics and data science outputs into existing business processes and applications.
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance and data security requirements.
  • Collaborating with the business and educating the organization on data engineering, data analysis, and data visualization and mentoring and coaching end user to get on their feet.
  • As the primary accountable data resource, assists the business with integrating reporting, visualization analytics and data science model outputs into business processes and interpreting the results.
  • Developing, managing, and supporting ETL processes with a keen eye on the performance and reliability of that information.
  • Providing guidance and assistance for data visualization and report generation, specifically with visual data modeling tools such as Power BI.
  • Contributes to the team’s development of internal work practices (e.g., policies, procedures and tools).
  • Provides orientation and training to internal and/or external stakeholders within area of responsibility.
  • Contributes to, participates in, and supports organizational business transformation initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree with a Major or Minor in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or related fields in data science, data management, mathematics and data analytics. Masters degree in the same fields an asset.
  • 2 years of working experience with Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault and Synapse
  • 2 years of working experience in SQL, NoSQL and Python
  • 2 years of working experience in Data management, storage, transformation, data Orchestration, and API management
  • 2 years of working experience with BI reporting tools e.g., Power BI or equivalent
  • Familiarity with governance models and frameworks an asset
  • Familiarity with MLOPS and advanced analytics and machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised learning) and the abilities to model data and interpret results with Random Forest, KNN, SHAP, etc an asset
