Job DescriptionThis position is associated with the sale of Intels NAND memory and storagebusiness to SK Hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.This is an exciting time to be at Intel - come join our ASIC Design Automation Team as an ASIC Design and Verification Automation Co-op and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As an ASIC Design and Verification Automation Co-op, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix.This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK Hynix.A co-op term with Intel of Canadas Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high performance SSD projects.The ASIC Design Automation posting for this listing is as follows:The Design Automation Team is a central team with wide exposure to the ASIC Design and Verification flows: We are focused on high value automation opportunities to boost Design and Verification reliability, capability, and efficiency.Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.We are looking for a detail orientated student with communication skills and an independent learning style. Mentorship will be provided, but the candidate will be expected to operate at a high level and interact with various teams to achieve objectives. Opportunities are available in a broad variety of System-on-a-Chip development areas - including design, implementation, and verification.The final job assignment will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. We encourage students with relevant work experience (other co-op terms, work experience) to apply.QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.Minimum Qualifications:

  • You must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum 3+ months of experience in:
  • Experienced and comfortable working in Linux
  • Proficient in Python
  • General knowledge of digital logic concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Make and Perl
  • Object Oriented programming experience
  • Experience with Digital Logic Design (SystemVerilog preferred)
