The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.This is an exciting time to be at Intel - come join our ASIC Verification team as a ASIC Development Co-op and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a ASIC Development Co-op, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix.This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK Hynix.A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high performance SSD projects.ASIC DevelopmentData is our future. 90 percent of all data today was created in the last two years and this trend will only accelerate. Can you think of the possibilitiesThe Vancouver ASIC team develops SoCs which power next generation Optane and NAND Client and Enterprise Solid State Drives (SSD) - a key enabler for our data hungry future. Modern ASICs have grown exponentially more complex in order to enable greater functionality, to push the limits of performance and to use less power. Nevertheless, ASIC verification must absorb and adapt to this growth because high quality ASICs are crucial for success. Our team develops object oriented models using cutting edge techniques and methodologies which are then simulated and compared against the ASIC.Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.We are looking for enthusiastic students with problem solving abilities, communication and desire to learn. Technically, a solid foundation of digital design (VHDL, Verilog) and object oriented programming is desired but not required.
