Job Description

As an Assistant Carpenter, you will be responsible mainly for helping our carpenter/s doing the tasks on our Building Envelope projects. As the ideal candidate, you should have a thorough knowledge of woodworking tools and a good attitude about learning new technology.With over two decades of experience, New City is staffed with an amazing group of professionals, engineers, project managers, and people from different trades that delivers reliable and cost-effective solutions to a wide range of building renewal challenges on both new and existing buildings. Come join our team!Responsibilities:

  • General assistance to the carpenter including assisting with all types of carpentry work.
  • Gather materials for workers to handle on job sites.
  • Keep job sites clean and machines serviced.
  • Cover services with plastic material to protect them.
  • Assist in the layout of foundation, building lines and anchor bolts
  • Other duties that may be assigned to you.
Requirements:
  • Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in being a helper/assistant carpenter.
  • Must have rainscreen installation experience.
  • Must have a positive attitude and good work ethic.
  • Certificate in the relevant area is preferred.
  • Understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and Safety Guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and execution skills
  • Experience using construction machinery is an asset
