Job Description

Avid Support Technician (ACSR)Picture ShopFinale Post (Picture Shop Vancouver) is a state-of-the-art visual post house, offering complete and integrated services to the feature, animation, and television communities. Picture Shop is a Streamland Media company.We are looking for an AVID SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (ACSR) at our Vancouver location. This is a full time position with benefits. Our Avid Support Technicians are responsible for system configuration, support and maintenance for our Editorial division, as well as supporting our Engineering team on other workflows.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:

  • Build and install software and hardware for editing and dailies/transcode systems and any other workflow related equipment.
  • Perform installations and tear outs of in-house and on location editing systems, dailies/transcode systems and other workflow related equipment.
  • Maintain, clean, test, troubleshoot and complete minor repairs to systems.
  • Hardware and Software installations and support include, but are not limited to: Mac, Windows, Avid, Davinci Resolve, Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting shared network storage systems including, but not limited to Avid Nexis and Isis.
  • Assist in formatting and testing cards and drives as needed.
  • Perform and maintain monitor calibrations.
  • Ensure excellent quality and customer service by identifying the needs and wants of clients and responding to their concerns and problems in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure equipment is properly assigned, booked, prepped and dispatched in inventory tracking or other systems.
  • Assist in prepping and maintaining of other production equipment when required.
  • Be available after hours by email or phone, as needed to provide on-call support.
  • Assist with IT tasks as needed. This may include, but is not limited to: phone, internet, software and printer setup & troubleshooting, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of Mac and PC based computers and software
  • Proficiency in the use of editing software including Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud/Premier, Davinci Resolve, and other programs.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service approach
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Qualifications:
  • Active Avid ACSR status (Preferred, but additional training is available)
  • 2yrs Experience working in the film and television industry, preferably in post production (Technician, Assistant Editor or other related field)
  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Post Secondary education in related field is suggested.
