Atira provides a generous and comprehensive benefits package and matching defined contribution pension plan.Location: Vancouver: Gastown & Downtown EastsideDeadline: Wednesday, April 27th at noonAbout Us:Atira Women’s Arts Society (AWAS) is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing economic opportunities for women through the teaching, making and selling of art and crafts in Vancouvers Downtown Eastside.About the Job:Reporting to the Director, Communications & Fund Development, the Manager, Social Enterprise is responsible for the operational management of Enterprising Women Making Art, East Van Roasters, The Painter Sisters Painting Company Inc., and any other social enterprises that may be created in future. The manager will ensure the smooth operation of the social enterprises including planning, budgeting, building and nurturing business relationships and marketing; as well as managing and supervising staff. The role requires strong people and organizing skills.About You:You have an inclusive/intersectional feminist analysis of violence against women and powerful alignment with Atira’s mission, vision, values and philosophy. You approach your work and live your life from a decolonizing, women centred and social justice perspective. You thrive on a passion for standards and the promotion of continuous talent development. You are a team player who strives for excellence but loves to have a good laugh, is able to think fast, be critical, and make sound decisions without agonizing, all while working in an incredibly dynamic and fast-paced environment.You have a degree in business or marketing and demonstrated experience managing in similar complex retail environments. You are comfortable working behind the scenes to support staff to shine, and self-confident when customer-facing. Staff who report to you would describe you as fair and caring, and an excellent coach. People around you see you as mature, reliable and as someone who can make hard decisions without agonizing. You are technologically proficient and able to produce budgets, forecasting and other reports on time and in the format required by Atira and its funders/partners/investors.Additional Requisites/Assets:

  • Food Safe is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Downtown East Side (history, organizations, services, issues and politics) an asset.
