Job Description

We are seeking a Bellman to complete our team, the successful candidate will be someone with excellent customer service, knowledgeable of hotel systems and enjoy a fast-paced environment.The Bellman is be responsible for providing our guests with a positive first and last impression, and will provide consistently excellent customer service and a positive, upbeat attitude.Responsibilities will include handling guest requirements, giving accurate directions and necessary information to guests, assisting with guest luggage, providing assistance loading and unloading luggage from tour-buses and vehicles, escorting guests to their room, delivering messages, parcels and guest amenities and room service delivery.Complete knowledge of hotel menus, room service procedures and presentation, guest amenities, local restaurants, special events and city attractions is mandatory.The Bellman will explain the services available in the hotel and guide guests to the check-in area or direct them to their destination.Bell staff will at times provide check in, check out and switchboard assistance to the Front Desk Clerks. The Bellman is responsible for keeping the hotel, staff and guests secure. They will ensure the lobby, meeting room, common areas and property perimeter are clean and presentable.Their mission is to exceed any expectations that our guests may have & provide professional guest service at all times.Hotel OverviewWith a unique designation of heritage building, the Hotel Sylvia is privately owned. It is a city landmark and one of Vancouver’s greatest treasures and soul of the West End. The location is a favorite for business travelers wanting to be out of the busy downtown core, for families vacationing on the beach or for romantic getaways. This is one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets to gaze over the seawall while enjoying sunset and non-pretentious experience.QUALIFICATIONS:· Must be a minimum of 2 years of experience as Hotel Guest Service agent.· Excellent knowledge of the city, including local events, restaurants, shopping and attractions.· Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.· Demonstrates good judgement, common sense and quick thinking· Shift flexibility, including weekends, evenings and holidaysJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $17.00-$19.00 per hourAdditional pay:
