This role is paid a wage of $20.01 per hour and requires open availability to work a combination of shifts that will include overnights which are paid at a premium rate.Position DescriptionRepresent the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver by being the first and last impression for our guestsWelcome all guests with a smile and an appropriate hospitality greeting - Welcome to the Shangri-La Hotel VancouverGreet all guests arriving by vehicle or by foot and clearly direct guest to registration areaResponsible for the delivery of Guest Luggage and any other items to guest roomConduct rooming for all guests checking in to communicate room controls and featuresEnsure the timely and efficient transfer of luggage to and from the guest’s roomPromote Valet parking service to guests arriving by vehicle, while ensuring all vehicle keys are clearly identified and stored in locked locationEnsure all entrances are free and clear of congestion for arrival and departure of guest vehicles.Move and organize vehicles on the drivewayParks and retrieve all guest vehiclesComplete thorough walk around of guests vehicles prior to parking and highlight any damage on corresponding valet parking ticketTo be noticeably positioned at hotel entrance to provide luggage assistance upon arrival, and departure and assist with the loading and unloading of luggage and ensure that it is sent to the location requested by the guestWhen requested or anticipated will provide guests with information and answers to questions about Hotel facilities such as; meeting facilities, dining options, local visitor and tourist attractions, and transportation informationProvide luggage storage by directing guests to the Bell DeskReport any suspicious or unusual behavior to hotel security servicesMaintain a presence in the Lower Lobby when not delivering luggage to guest rooms, offering assistance to Guests, under the direction of the Bell CaptainConsistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceAssist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful wayUndertakes other ad hoc related responsibilities, as requiredEducation & Skill RequirementsPrevious experience in a similar capacity within another luxury or upscale hotel brand is an assetProfessional verbal communication skillsProfessional appearance and mannerClass 5 Drivers License is requiredValid SIR (Serving it Right) Certificate is an assetFrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbsConstant standing and walking throughout shiftStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAbility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, mornings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts as requiredSHANGRI-LA VANCOUVER COLLEAGUE PRIVILEGES…we enable people to live, work, play, eat, and rest well through the environments we create and the memorable experiences we deliver!
