This position is for a team player who is proactive with a strong work ethic, can handle a busy workload, and who has a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong client service focus, the ability to multi-task, have solid analytical and organizational skills, and excellent communication skills.Responsibilities:

  • Responding to queries regarding the billing processes
  • Communicating billing information to all level of staff
  • Reviewing WIP to ensure client specific billing guidelines are being followed
  • Uploading of e-billing invoices into third party billing systems
  • Monitoring of legal budgets & liaising budget info with staff
  • Handling matters related to collections – follow up, communications, reporting, tracking, etc.
  • Setting up new users in the firm’s systems
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance Discipline (or related field)
  • A minimum of 3-5 of years recent and direct working experience in a Billing Specialist/Clerk role within a legal services/law firm.
  • Advanced to expert level communications; both verbal and written, in English is mandatory
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Some experience with e-billing is an asset
  • Some overtime will be required during peak season
